Solid wood – a natural and a valuable material

Wood is no uniform and homogenous material. Each tree and every single piece of solid-wood has its own and unmistakable characteristics. Therefore especially furniture manufactured from solid-wood have their particular marks of origin. Characteristics for these natural grown material have differences in colour and structure, connation, irregularities, pressure points, branches, pitch pockets, frictions, griffith and cross rifts that vary according to wood species and location of growth. These are authenticity features, which give the wood its natural beauty and make every single piece of furniture unique.

Wood reacts to varying room temperature and humidity – also season caused. It “works”. Frictions within the wood and warping are not always excludable. (Recommendation of the leading German consumer safety group: average annual temperature 18–21 °C and 45-55% relative humidity.) In the course of time the sun and other sources of light may change structure and colour depending on the location of the product.

To increase the stability we use so called “glue wooden board” staff-glued wooden boards as basis for our solid-wood furniture. In a complex manufacturing process single lamellas are combined with glue (according to DIN 68602) at top and/or side. These lamellas may differ in widths, lengths and colour within one wooden board. Customary it is used to eliminate wood- conditioned defects by replacing lamella and/or branch spots.

All of these features are a proof of the natural origin and give no reason for an objection. Function, use, value and durability of these furniture are not affected in any way.
