Wood Surface Care & Repair

Wood Surface Care & Repair

For oiled surfaces
Your new oiled furniture needs to be cleaned and cared for with the right products from the start. Regular care ensures a long surface life.

Loose dirt should be removed with a dust cloth. Basically, all dirt and spilled liquids (e.g. beverages) should be removed immediately to avoid a long exposure time. A small amount of neutral soap can be added to the water for wiping, then wipe dry. It is important not to leave permanent moisture on the surfaces.

Sharp and abrasive cleaning agents should not be used. Dirt scratches are cleaned with a fine Scotch mat in the direction of the grain. To preserve the value of these precious "natural products", care is also important. In order to preserve the warm, natural surface shine, all surfaces should be treated regularly with a care set. The first after-treatment is recommended after approx. 3 months.

Care sets are available either from your furniture dealer or you can order them directly from us.
We recommend the Proterra care set, which you can order » here.

For our furniture covered with leather, we recommend the Keralux leather care sets. These are perfectly matched to our high-quality thick leather. With these special products you will enjoy your leather furniture for a long time.

Why cleaning first and then care?
In order for leather to retain its attractiveness, its wonderfully soft feel and its naturalness in the long term, it absolutely needs important care and moisturising agents. However, it can only absorb these if its pores have been cleaned and freed of dirt particles beforehand. This is why the high-quality KERALUX® Leather Care Set P is the perfect care combination for pigmented smooth leather: The KERALUX® Soft Cleaner cleans the pores of the leather particularly gently and yet thoroughly from dirt particles. KERALUX® Care Lotion P can then be ideally absorbed. This provides the leather with optimum re-greasing and moisture. The additional light protection offers protection against premature bleaching. Enriched with valuable antioxidants, KERALUX® Care Lotion P contributes to a long life of the leather.

1. cleaning with KERALUX® Soft Cleaner
Shake bottle well before use. Apply some KERALUX® Soft Cleaner to the sponge and squeeze together to create foam. Never apply directly to the leather. Now move the sponge over the leather with light circular movements and remove the dirt. Rinse the sponge in lukewarm water. Allow the foam to act briefly on more heavily soiled areas. Then wipe the leather after cleaning with a damp cotton cloth. Always use distilled water to avoid limescale marks. Always clean large areas of leather from seam to seam, not just selectively. Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards!

2. care with the KERALUX® Care Lotion P
Shake bottle well before use. Apply some KERALUX® Care Lotion P to the cloth, rub on and spread evenly and thinly over the leather with light circular movements. Always proceed from seam to seam. Never apply KERALUX® Care Lotion P directly onto the leather. After excessive application, remove any lotion residues with a clean, soft cotton cloth as long as they are moist. Now the leather is perfectly cleaned, cared for and protected against premature bleaching!

Stone Care (Slate)

Stone Care (Slate)

The harmonious interplay of slate and solid wood

We generally recommend surface protection with our Proterra care set. A treatment with the natural coloured oil is possible. The oil penetrates into the substrate and gives the slate a beautiful colour deepening. This darkening of the slate makes the surface less sensitive, more scratch-resistant and easier to clean.

The oil should be applied very thinly to the surface with a cotton cloth and the excess oil immediately removed with a dry cloth. You can order the Proterra care set » here.

Glass Care

Glass Care

Only soft cloths or chamois leather may be used for cleaning. Do not use strong detergents to prevent scratches.

Hot pots must always be placed on a saucer so that the heat does not cause tension cracks.

Worktop care

Worktop care

The range of worktop materials is very extensive. New materials are constantly being added. Essentially, the range includes mineral worktops, laminate worktops, natural stone worktops, wood worktops, stainless steel worktops, ceramic worktops and glass worktops.

For all materials in general: Regular care with the recommended care sets of the manufacturers is absolutely necessary. Spilled liquids must be wiped off immediately. Always place sharp-edged objects and hot pots on coasters so that the surfaces are not scratched. If in doubt, seek the advice of a specialist.
